Permanent Rust In-Game Store Added With Premium Cosmetics

Facepunch Studios have announced what has become increasingly common these days in online titles: a Rust in-game store. In it, players will be able to buy “premium cosmetic items and skins.” Facepunch stated that there will also be “regularly launch timed-availability skins and items” and that they will still be working with community creators. DLC packs such as the Instruments, Sunburn, and Voice Props back will also still be created.

Rust has been on a roll for a while. The latest major update added military bases, while other recent updates focused on things to do underwater, such as explore underwater bases. The Rust in-game store is a little different but still a something that’s been added to the game, so let’s talk about it, shall we?

What’s in the Rust in-game store?

The Rust in-game store has a bunch of things already available. There’s a sofa pattern available for $1.99, coconut underwear for $4.99, industrial lights for $3.99, the factory door for $4.99, and last but not least is the nomad outfit for $9.99. The nomad suit is perhaps the most interesting addition, as it is a skin for the hazmat suit that can be applied at a repair bench or when you craft the item in-game.

The reason that Facepunch Studios is launching this now is because they think players value being able to choose different skins and seasonal items, and with a lot of new players coming into the game they don’t really have that option.

With permanent cosmetics, players now have that option. The new items and skins will also not be tradable to help differentiate them from the other skins and items that have been sold in the past and will continue to be sold. More items will be coming to the Rust in-game store and items may also be discounted or discontinued, so keep an eye on something if there’s anything you want but don’t want to buy at its full-price.
