Sony has accidentally confirmed the PS Plus December 2021 lineup early. Several European PlayStation Twitter accounts have revealed the three titles coming to the service this month, and it looks like the leaks were correct again.
What are the PS Plus December 2021 titles?
This news comes from gaming leaker Nibel on Twitter. Though the tweets revealing the lineup have since been removed, Twitter users managed to get screenshots of the official PlayStation accounts revealing the PS Plus December 2021 games. As ever, there are three: one for PS5 and two for PS4. That said, the PS5 game can also be played on PS4, and of course, both PS4 titles are playable on PS5 as well. Let’s take a look at what you’re getting.
Godfall (PS5, PS4)
Godfall is an RPG from developer Counterplay Games and publisher Gearbox. It’s a loot-based affair in which you must gather new equipment and augment your warrior as they fight their way through several realms to stop the apocalypse. We weren’t big fans of this one, but you might find some enjoyment in it as a PS Plus title.
Mortal Shell (PS4)
This Soulslike boasts an interesting gameplay conceit: the ability to change your character class during playthroughs, choosing from a series of preset “shells” with their own abilities and play styles. It’s not the best Soulslike out there, but it’s certainly worth a look.
Lego DC Super-Villains (PS4)
You know what you’re getting with Lego DC Super-Villains; it’s a Lego game, so that means lots of smashing bricks and collecting studs. This time around, the focus is on the Joker and other DC supervillains as they attempt to battle an otherworldly threat and reluctantly save their world. It’s good fun.
It’s not a bad lineup for Sony and PlayStation Plus this month. Some subscribers may have been hoping for something a little more showstopping, and the PS5 game, in particular, is somewhat lackluster, but it’s more than made up for by a solid Soulslike and a reliably fun Lego title. As ever, you can grab a PS Plus subscription from your PlayStation console or from your browser. It’ll set you back $9.99 a month, with options to pay $24.99 for three months or $59.99 for a full year. Other benefits include online play, discounts from the Store, and access to the PS Plus Collection if you’re a PS5 gamer.
