The Terraria x Don’t Starve Together Update has finally arrived, debuting a new Terraria update and a new Don’t Starve Together update with crossover content for both games.
Late last month, Klei and Re-Logic teased a Terraria x Don’t Starve Together Update that promised to deliver some new content for both games. This was particularly surprising for Terraria since it had its “final” update late last year. Since then, Terraria had released another update earlier this year that added Steam Workshop support and Don’t Starve Together detailed its roadmap for this year’s content — and now, players of either game are getting something new to play.
What’s New in Terraria Update 1.4.3?
Terraria Update 1.4.3 adds a bunch of themed content as part of its crossover with Don’t Starve Together. The Terraria x Don’t Starve Together Update has quite a few cosmetic surprises in store for Terraria gamers — and a brand new world to play on.
Let’s start with the biggest and most surprising addition: “The Constant” is a new world seed inspired by Don’t Starve. This world will be very different from what you’ve experienced in Terraria before and it has a higher chance of spawning Don’t Starve-themed items.
Speaking of those items, some new tools and weapons have been added to the game. Today’s update highlights the addition of Lucy the Axe, an axe with a personality that guilt-trips you if you toss her aside. Also arriving is Chester, a pet that doubles as a Piggy Bank.
Not all of the new additions are beneficial, though — the terrifying Deerclops has been added as a boss; players should tackle the Deerclops in mid-to-late pre-Hardmode. A number of other bug fixes and changes have arrived; you can read about them in detail in Terraria’s half of the patch notes.
What’s New in the Don’t Starve Together Update?
The Terraria x Don’t Starve Together Update is, of course, also adding new content to Don’t Starve Together! This new Don’t Starve Together Update adds a fair amount of cool stuff to the game including a new boss.
The Eye of Cthulhu — typically the first boss that most players face in Terraria — has been added to Don’t Starve Together as the “Eye of Terror.” And yes, The Twins have been added, too as “The Twins of Terror.”
New food and new Crock Pot recipes have been added along with the mysterious “Terrarium,” an item that can be found hidden somewhere in your world. Terraria-themed cosmetic content is also available as long as you have the necessary Spool and materials to make them; you can read about Don’t Starve’s half of the update in more detail in the Don’t Starve Together update patch notes.
Terraria x Don’t Starve Together Update Sale and Merch is Here
The Terraria x Don’t Starve Together Update sale has also arrived — if you’ve been curious about either game, you can pick the both of them up at a pretty sweet discount on Steam. The two games have also teamed up for some physical merch — you can buy t-shirts and mugs on Freshmerch starting at $14.99 or your regional equivalent.
If you’re curious about either game and haven’t yet jumped into them, now’s the time to buy them! You can buy Terraria for PC via Steam for just $4.99 or your regional equivalent; alternatively, you can buy a 4-pack for $14.99. As for the other half of this crossover, you can buy Don’t Starve Together for PC via Steam starting at $5.09. And if you already have both games, there’s still something cool to get — there are new additions for both titles in the Steam Points shop.
