Big Bad Wolf Studios, Nacon, and Cyanide Studios have announced that the Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong release date has been pushed back to three months beyond its February 2022 launch date.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong was first revealed to the world in late 2019; it promises to deliver a unique narrative RPG experience set within a world of political intrigue and mystery. We learned a bit more about the game in the middle of last year, but things have been relatively quiet since then. Now, the developers have made the decision to push back the launch of the game by several months.
“Our focus is on crafting a world that draws you in, that requires you to make difficult decisions and live with the consequences,” read the announcement on the game’s official Twitter account. “Swansong features lots of characters, choices, dialogues, and opportunities to decide how the story plays and our ultimate focus is on quality. With this in mind, we’ve made the difficult decision to delay the launch of Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong from February 2022 to May 2022.”
A specific reason for the delay was not cited; rather, the announcement notes that the devs want to “ensure the highest possible quality” while also providing the team behind the game with a healthy work-life balance. And, of course, they note that the pandemic caused a fair few challenges for them, too.
