A small Apex Legends update has arrived, restoring the removed Sentinal sniper rifle, Rampage LMG, and Bangalore’s new MIL-SPEC skin. This update also makes balance changes to the Rampage.
Apex Legends Season 11 has continued following its shaky start, closing out last year with a pirate-themed LTE and generally being a good time all around. It hasn’t all been sunshine and lollipops, though: last week, Respawn Entertainment removed two key guns and a Bangalore skin from the game due to bugs. The removed guns have now been restored — and one of them has had some balance changes.
Apex Legends Update Brings Back a Very Different Rampage LMG
Today’s Apex Legends update was announced on Twitter. It fixed an issue with charging weapons, and that means that the Rampage LMG and Sentinel sniper rifle can return; a bug with Bangalore’s MIL-SPEC skin has also been resolved and players can now access that cosmetic if they’re purchased it.
The removal of the guns, in particular, made the last week of Apex Legends a somewhat odd experience. LMGs and sniper rifles all have some kind of gimmick, and the Rampage and Sentinel were arguably some of the more “normal” guns in their categories. This forced players to rely on the Longbow or Charge Rifle in the sniper rifle category and the Devotion and L-STAR in the LMG category. While these two iconic guns are back, one of them is not quite the same — Respawn Entertainment has made some changes to the Rampage LMG.
“You may notice the Rampage feels a bit different,” read a follow-up tweet from Respawn Entertainment. “We decreased the damage per bullet down from 28 -> 26 and increased the thermite consumption per shot in its charged state. Give it a try and let us know what ya think. As always, we appreciate your patience, legends.”
The return of these guns is certainly welcome news to longtime players of the game. You can enjoy these returning weapons by playing Apex Legends for free on PC and consoles via its official website.
