The eighth and final faction has been revealed by Creative Assembly with a little less than a month to go until Total War: Warhammer III‘s release. Daemons of Chaos, or Chaos Undivided, will be one of the launch factions in the game.
Check out our 50 turn preview of Daemons of Chaos here, 50 turns of Grand Cathay here, and our general preview of all the new features in Total War: Warhammer III here.
Daemons of Chaos sees you take on the role of a Daemon Prince you get to name as you build up power and influence with the four Chaos Gods – Khorne, Nurgle, Tzeentch, and Slaanesh. Of course, you can try to forge your own path as Chaos Undivided as well.
There are a few unique elements to the Daemons of Chaos faction. The first is the fact that they don’t have a specific pool of units unique to them. Instead, you will be able to use units from the four different Chaos God armies to mix and match as you please. Those familiar with Total War can already see the potential that brings.
Additionally, your legendary lord, a Daemon Prince is not a named character in Warhammer lore, so you can treat them as a blank canvas. Both the look and attributes of your Daemon Prince are entirely up to you, as the faction features some light RPG mechanics.
In the place of research and skill trees, you gain Daemonic Glory as you play with the various Chaos Gods. The more you collect, the more customizable options you unlock. From literally head to hoof to tail, you can swap out body parts to make any kind of lord you want, from melee killing machine to a spellcaster.
Daemons of Chaos fills out the faction roster, which includes Grand Cathay, Kislev, Ogre Kingdoms, Khorne, Nurgle, Tzeentch, and Slaanesh.
Total War: Warhammer III releases February 17th on PC. It will be available on PC Game Pass day one as well.
