Not Tonight 2, the self-proclaimed “most political game ever made” has received a February 11, 2022 release date for PC, a console release coming later this year. Not Tonight 2 is being developed by PoliticalBarn and is being published by No More Robots, whose library includes titles such as Descenders, Yes, Your Grace, Hypnospace Outlaw. The original Not Tonight (which focused on post-Brexit) sets the stage for Not Tonight 2, which has players traveling across a broken America to save themselves as Eduardo Suarez, who has been taken by the authorities during a protest and is now locked up in a Miami gulag.
Written by 3 POC writers and artists, Not Tonight 2 is a document-checking, time-pressure RPG that explores an America where Capitalism and political greed have taken over and democracy is a thing of the past. There are politically-driven minigames that players will play through on their road trip that will take Eduardo’s friends Malik, Kevin, and Mari across America.
Players will work the doors of clubs, churches, race tracks, casinos, and cults and play rhythm games such as wizard shooting, serving poutine, assessing religion, checking chickens, and more. You’ll also see some cool sights such as New York underwater, the mechanical Mexican border wall, a Canadian-annexed Montana, Mount Rushmore taken over by medieval LARPers, religious cults, and factories pumping out livestock full of steroids. As you can tell, there’s a lot that’s different in this version of the US of A, and there’s undoubtedly more to discover throughout Not Tonight 2‘s campaign.
Not Tonight 2 will release on PC on February 11, 2022, and is coming to consoles later this year.
