Path of Exile: Siege of the Atlas has been revealed as the next Path of Exile expansion, and it’s bringing some big overhauls to the game in early February 2022.
2022 is shaping up to be a great year for fans of action RPGs. Aside from next month’s launch of Lost Ark (which will feature a bunch of new zones to explore), Grinding Gear Games has revealed the next big expansion for Path of Exile — get ready to dive into Siege of the Atlas!
What’s Coming in the Path of Exile: Siege of the Atlas Expansion?
The Path of Exile: Siege of the Atlas expansion has a strong focus on the endgame, but that’s not all — a number of core systems have been reworked.
To start, Atlas Passive Trees are going the way of the dodo — a massive “Atlas-wide Passive Tree” will feature over 600 skills for players to select from. Every completed map (along with certain Atlas quests) will earn you an Atlas skill point to spend in this tree. All in all, most Atlas mechanics have been reworked to some degree.
Players diving into Siege of the Atlas can look forward to fighting two powerful new enemies. The Searing Exarch and The Eater of Worlds will be some of the toughest fights yet. Naturally, they’ll also have some pretty great rewards for players who manage to defeat them. The new storyline also features four Pinnacle Bosses for those of you seeking an additional challenge.
Considering the growing number of gear and merchants (such as those added in Path of Exile: Expedition), some players may be filling up their stashes a little faster than before. That will be alleviated, too, with the addition of two new dedicated stash tabs that will allow you to store 500 Gems or Flasks, respectively.
Finally, the Path of Exile: Siege of the Atlas expansion will have a number of new unique items, balance changes, and competitive events. You can read about everything that’s on the way on the expansion’s landing page.
When is the Path of Exile: Siege of the Atlas Release Date?
The Path of Exile: Siege of the Atlas release date is February 4, 2022 — you’ll be able to enjoy all of this new content in Grinding Gear Games’ action RPG in a little over a week!
For now, there’s still plenty of fun to be had in this free-to-play action RPG. You can play Path of Exile for free on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox via its official website.
