PlayStation Discord integration is now rolling out in the United States, giving you the ability to show your friends the PS4 and PS5 games you’re playing on Discord.
Discord is one of the most popular voice chat platforms in the world and it’s always seeking to expand into new ventures, some of which have failed (like Discord’s game store) and some of which have succeeded (such as the launch of communities). Now, a new venture has borne fruit: gamers in the US will soon be able to show off what PS4 and PS5 games they’re playing on Discord.
How PlayStation Discord Integration Works
PlayStation Discord integration is fairly simple according to today’s announcement — all you have to do is link your PlayStation Network account to your Discord account and you’re all set.
The process for linking your PlayStation Network account plays out like linking any other account. All you have to do is go into your Discord Settings and then navigate to the Connections screen. A new option for PlayStation Network will be available. Enter in your account details, authorize the access, and you’re done.
“Our goal is to bring the Discord and PlayStation experiences closer together on console and mobile starting early next year, allowing friends, groups, and communities to hang out, have fun, and communicate more easily while playing games together.” Sony Interactive President & CEO Jim Ryan said when the partnership was announced last May
It should be noted, however, that PlayStation Discord integration might not be live for you just yet. This new option is currently rolling out in the United States and may not be available in your part of the country. Countries outside of the United States will get access to this feature at a later time.
