Techblox is a Competitive F2P Physics Builder Available Now

Freejam, developer and publisher of F2P robot battle builder Robocraft, have announced that their second F2P title, Techblox, a F2P competitive machine builder with interesting server-side physics technology, is now available. Players can construct their creations out of blocks and bring them to life with a user-friendly building system that will allow newcomers to make a vehicle in seconds because of an automatic wiring system. Players will be able to use logic blocks along with joints to program complex features such as pop up headlights, working forklift trucks, and customizable suspension systems. It all seems fairly similar to Robocraft, but hey, if you have something you’re good at, keep doing it I guess. 

As this is a competitive machine builder, there’s a bunch of modes that Freejam is planning to implement:

• Racing
• Battle Arena
• Deathmatch
• Team Deathmatch
• King of the hill
• Battle Bots
• Multi manned machine matches
• Football
• Obstacle courses

There’s a decent amount of variety there, and this is all possible through the server-side technology that Techblox uses in order to provide accurate physics calculations. This will allow vehicles to collide with each other at high speeds and react in ways that players would expect. Eventually, the game will support up to 40+ players in a single game mode, which sounds suitably chaotic.
