Chivalry 2 Game Pass Launch Coincides With New Update

Today’s Chivalry 2 Game Pass debut likely means a large influx of players are on their way, so it’s a great time to be a Chivalry 2 fan. With more than 2 million copies sold, there are already plenty of people to slay, but who doesn’t want more foes to fight against, eh? As well as landing on Game Pass, Chivalry 2 has also received a major update today that adds a new map, weapon, and mounted combat updates, so let’s take a look at it all, shall we?

To start things off, the Chivalry 2 Game Pass debut means that it’s now available on both Xbox and PC Game Pass, so if you’re a subscriber on console or PC (or, indeed, to Game Pass Ultimate), you’re good to start playing Chivalry 2.

As for the new update, it’s bringing the all-new Hippodrome map, which is a Team Deathmatch and Free-For-All map. It’s designed to show off the mounted combat that was introduced in the Tenosian Invasion update, so it’s set in an arena that has open space for mounted charges. There are also spike traps and flamethrowers, so stay frosty.

Soon you’ll be horsing around on the new map.

The newly added weapon, the Katar, is the first dual-wielded weapon in Chivalry 2. Katars are armor-piercing daggers designed for the Ambusher class, and they’re fast-stabbing weapons that don’t interrupt opponents. To compensate for their speed, the weapons also have a very weak block, so be careful.

If you were looking for new places to saddle up your steed, you’ll be pleased to know that mounted combat has been added to existing maps such as The Raid on Aberfell and The Siege of Rudhelm. Basically, if you’re a Team Objective player and like horses, today is your lucky day.

There’s also a new edition of the game that’s just been released in the form of Chivalry 2: King’s Edition, which is coming to consoles this October and is available now on PC. It comes with exclusive cosmetic armor and premium currency, and if you already own the game, you can get the King’s Edition for $9.99 from the Special Edition or $19.99 from the basic version.
