Today Ubisoft announced the next installment of The Crew franchise, titled The Crew Motorfest.
The game will be released in 2023 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
It’s developed by Ubisoft Ivory Tower and it abandons the continental US that has been the setting for the series until now and goes to the beautiful island of O‘ahu in the Hawaiian archipelago, including the city of Honolulu and diverse environments like volcanic slopes, rainforest, mountain roads, and beaces beach.
On top of that, Ubisoft is also providing prospective players with the chance to help test the game earlier, with an Insider Program starting tomorrow, February 1. The test will be split into different phases and the first will be limited to PC, but it’ll expand to other platforms later. You can register on the official site regardless of your platform of choice.
The announcement was accompanied by a trailer and another video with developer commentary, which you can watch below.
We also get an official description introducing the title:
“Developed by Ubisoft Ivory Tower, a studio based in Lyon, France, The Crew Motorfest lets players fulfill the driving bucket list of their dreams in one of the most exhilarating and vibrant open worlds ever created. Motorfest is a car-culture infused festival organized in one of the world’s most breathtaking locations: O‘ahu, one of the main islands of the Hawaiian archipelago.
On their own or with friends, players can explore this galvanizing tropical playground behind the wheel of hundreds of the most legendary vehicles ever built. At every corner of the island, the festival offers infinite opportunities for pure fun, all forms of driving challenges, and invites them to explore incredible landscapes: from big city streets to volcano slopes, lush rainforests, idyllic beaches… They are free to follow the roads or forge their own path!”
