Warhammer prices are rising once again. The tabletop gaming community knows full well how expensive the hobby can get. Between miniatures, terrain, rulebooks, and paint, a lot of time and money goes into cultivating the army for your game of choice. Now, Games Workshop has announced that you may be paying a bit more for that investment in plastic
The increasing Warhammer prices
The announcement of the increased Warhammer prices came from a Warhammer Community post. In it, Games Workshop mentions that things are getting more expensive. This includes not just production and materials but transport as well. Because of this, starting March 6, various Warhammer products and accessories will be increasing.
According to the post, the following Warhammer products will be increasing in price by 6%:
- Plastic miniatures
- Forge World and Citadel resin miniatures
- Standard and Artificer Citadel brushes
- Spray paints
Furthermore, the tabletop publisher confirmed the following products will not be changing in price:
- Starter sets
- Paint sets
- Paint pots
- Citadel Tools
- Codexes, Rulebooks, and Battletomes
- Synthetic STC brushes
Games Workshop does cite an example of how much this price increase will affect things. A single Battle Sisters Squad will go from £36 to £37.50 (about $43.60 to $44.90), The addition of £1.50 doesn’t sound like much, but that is only one army in Warhammer 40k. At the time of writing a single Leagues of Votann Combat Patrol sells for $150, With this new increase, that price jumps to $159. The Cadia Stands Army Set would jump from $200 to $212. Furthermore, these prices are just for the miniatures and there’s still the matter of shipping, which can vary wildly depending on where you live.
If you wish to get into the tabletop hobby, starter sets and paints will not be affected by these new Warhammer prices. Yet, once March 6 rolls around, adding to your collection will cost a bit extra.
