It was already known that Final Fantasy XIV update 6.35 would bring an “ear wiggle” emote inspired by the adorable Loporrit, but today you get to see its animation.
The emote was showcased with a short video on YouTube showing it performed by a couple of lalafell, a miqo’te, a loporrit (showing the emote’s inspiration), and… global community producer Toshio Murouchi, who has been rocking the loporrit cosplay in quite a few occasions.
While precise details have not been provided, it’s likely that the emote will be unlocked via the Loporrit Tribal Quests, which are one of the main features coming with update 6.35 (you can read a full list in our dedicated article).
It’ll be interesting to see how challenging it’ll be to get, but it’s rather obvious that Square Enix expects this emote to be popular, and I’ll go out on a limb to say that they’re probably correct in that assumption.

Final Fantasy XIV is currently available for PS5, PS4, and PC both on Steam and via stand-alone client. The game is one of the most popular MMORPGs on the planet, having pulled a basically miraculous recovery with its relaunch as “A Realm Reborn” in 2013 after its original release in 2010.
After its fourth expansion “Endwalker,” it currently counts 27 million registered accounts worldwide. Just a few days ago, the new edition of the annual Little Ladies’ Day seasonal event has been launched.
