Tekken 8 Jack-8 Trailer Shows How Terrifying AI Truly Is

It’s time for yet another Tekken 8 character trailer, and this time, the intimidating android Jack-8 is taking the spotlight. The chunky robot’s slow, purposeful gameplay style looks ideal for those who are more methodical in their approach, and his special sees him bringing out the heavy ordnance.

After getting a look at the revolutionary lion Lars Alexandersson and the masked wrestler extraordinaire King in the last week or so, it’s Jack’s turn to show off, and as is Tekken tradition at this point, a new iteration of the android is debuting in Tekken 8. His rival, as you’d expect, is King, who takes a real beating in Jack’s trailer.

Jack’s combat style is slow and deliberate, contrasting with faster combatants like Jin or Lars. His moves pack a real punch, so if you can land your blows, you should be able to deal a decent chunk of damage. The tradeoff, of course, is speed, so playing a faster character who can get quick hits in and back away might be the best way to take on Jack-8.

Jack uses his fists and feet, as well as the propulsive force of his armored bulk, to fight. His combos revolve around using his fists like pistons, firing them at enemies who dare to get too close. As the Jack-8 trailer closes out, we also get to see his Rage Art, which sees him firing a cannon so massive that the kickback blows him away as well. There’s always been something of a comedy dimension to Jack’s character, so it’s nice to see that element represented here.

With each new character trailer, I’m hoping we’re getting closer to a Tekken 8 release date announcement, but unfortunately, we still don’t know when the latest King of Iron Fist Tournament will grace our gaming systems. When it does, Tekken 8 will be released for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Watch this space for more Tekken 8 trailers and more info about Bandai Namco’s upcoming fighter.
