The Seven Deadly Sins Origin Reveals New Anime-Style Gameplay at GDC

Netmarble has revealed new gameplay of The Seven Deadly Sins Origin, an upcoming game based on the popular manga and anime.

The game, which is coming for PC, consoles, and mobile platforms, was announced all the way back in January 2022, and it still doesn’t have a release date.

This time around we get to see more, including exploration and combat. The game is an open-world RPG featuring an original story with a new protagonist, in which you can interact with the characters of The Seven Deadly Sins and adventure across the continent of Britannia.

At the moment, we don’t know much more, but you can check out the gameplay below.

If you’re unfamiliar with The Seven Deadly Sins, the franchise originated from a manga by Nakaba Suzuki which debuted in 2012 on Kodansha’s Weekly Shounen Magazine, with its original run serialized all the way into 2020. A sequel titled Four Knights of the Apocalypse is currently ongoing.

The manga sparked several anime seasons, theatrical films, and multiple video games like The Seven Deadly Sins: Knights of Britannia by Bandai Namco. Netmarble itself also publishes the mobile game The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross, which is currently available for iOS and Android.

It’ll be interesting to see where The Seven Deadly Sins Origin will land, considering its multiplatform nature which can be seen as similar to the ultra-popular Genshin Impact. We’ll keep an eye on it and keep you posted.
