Final Fantasy XIV Trailer Portrays a Warrior of Light’s Journey

Square Enix released a new trailer of its ultra-popular MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV.

The trailer portrays the journey of an average player (or “Warrior of Light” as players are called in FFXIV) since their first login just outside of Limsa Lominsa, then moving on to making the first friends and challenging the first dungeons.

We see common events one would enjoy with their friends and free company (the game’s version of a guild) including having fun at the beach in Costa del Sol or celebrating the Holidays. Things go full circle as the former new player and their friends welcome another new player who was wandering Ul’dah wondering what to do.

You can watch it below.

If you’re not familiar with Final Fantasy XIV, it’s currently available for PS5, PS4, and PC both on Steam and via stand-alone client. The game is one of the most popular MMORPGs on currently available the planet, having pulled a basically miraculous recovery with its relaunch as “A Realm Reborn” in 2013 after its original release in 2010.

After its fourth expansion “Endwalker,” it currently counts 27 million registered accounts worldwide. The game just received update 6.38 which should be the last of the 6.3 cycle. The English localization of the Final Fantasy XIV: Eorzea Academy Manga by Esora Amaichi has also been announced by Square Enix a few days ago.

Square Enix also just made the Stormblood expansion accessible for a limited time with no additional purchase required to those who own the Starter Edition, while producer and director Naoki Yoshida shared his ambitions for the future of the game during a recent event at PAX East

Last, but not least, recently we learned the first details of update 6.4, which will be titled The Dark Throne and will come in Late May.
