Today, Genshin Impact developer HoyoVerse is releasing a new gacha banner in its new RPG Honkai: Star Rail, featuring a brand new character.
The newcomer is the five-star lightning/erudition character Jing Yuan, who is coming at 6:00 pm server time and will be available until June 6. His banner, or “event warp” as they’re called in Honkai: Star Rail, is titled “Swirl of Heavenly Spear” and also features four-star characters March 7th, Sushang, and Tingyun.
To celebrate the debut, HoYoverse launched an extensive trailer showing off Jing Yuan’s gameplay, which you can watch below.
You’re probably already familiar with him, as he was prominently featured in a gorgeous animated short a few days ago and another introduction trailer. He’s voiced by Alejandro Saab in English and the popular Daisuke Ono in Japanese. If you’re not familiar with him, he lends his voice to Van Arkride in the latest Trails games, Snow Villiers in the Final Fantasy XIII series, Jotaro Kujo in the JoJo series, and many more roles.

With divine spirits and steel he defies the plague. With unmatched calculation and wit he safeguards the Xianzhou. Even with eyes closed, he triumphs over his enemies from far away. But why did the Dozing General suddenly open his eyes? Is it because of an invasion from the enemy, or a sudden change in Luofu?
Honkai: Star Rail is a turn-based RPG that can be played for free in single-player mode. It’s available for PC through a standalone client and the Epic Games Store, as well as on iOS and Android devices. Although the developers have announced that they are working on ports for PlayStation platforms to be released soon, no specific release date has been announced just yet.
