Microsoft Starts Launching it PC Games on Geforce Now Cloud Service

A few weeks ago, Microsoft announced its plans to make its PC games available on Nvidia’s cloud service Geforce Now, and it’s already following through.

Starting today, thanks to the 10-year partnership with Nvidia, Gears 5 becomes available on the service, and it’ll be followed by Deathloop, Grounded, and Pentiment on Mat 25.

This is just the beginning, as ore PC games from both Xbox and Bethesda will continue to be added over time on a regular basis. This means that you’ll be able to stream the games on Geforce Now whether you’re purchased them on Steam or the Epic Games Store. In the coming months, purchases on Microsoft’s store will also become available to stream on the service.

Other services announced over the past few weeks like Boosteroid, Ubitus, EE and Nware will also get the same treatment going forward, and Microsoft counts to add Activision’s games to the deal once (if) the embattled acquisition closes.

This fulfills the commitment made with the European Union to gain its approval of the acquisition, and is represent Microsoft’s first move to counter opposition to the deal, including the British CMA and the American FTC.

The CMA has blocked the deal over concerns about competition in the cloud gaming market, pending Microsoft’s and Activision’s appeal, albeit the regulator appears to be under mounting political pressure. The FTC is also suing Microsoft over the deal, as it lacks the power to simply block it without going trough legal process.

At the moment, we have to wait and see who will prevail in this 4D chess game, but if today’s announcement is any indication, Microsoft appears not to intend to wait for its opponents to move before it makes things happen.
