Details on the next Hardspace: Shipbreaker update have been revealed. The Hardspace: Shipbreaker 1.0 Update will also mark the end of the game’s Early Access period.
There are games with building houses, games with building towns, and games with building spaceships, but Hardspace: Shipbreaker is a game that’s about destroying spaceships. Specifically, this game is all about running the intergalactic equivalent of a scrapyard — you have to use a variety of tools to break down derelict ships for recycling. The game has been out in Steam Early Access for a year and a half; now, it’s going to be launching version 1.0 this Spring.
What’s Coming in the Next Hardspace: Shipbreaker Update?
The next Hardspace: Shipbreaker update is promising a ton of content for players. Most notably, the Hardspace: Shipbreaker 1.0 update will feature Campaign Act 3 and conclude the game’s storyline. Blackbird Interactive promises that it will be a “satisfying and exciting end to the campaign,” but your adventure doesn’t have to end there — you’ll be able to continue playing after the conclusion of the campaign.
Also arriving in this update is a new “Ship Saving” feature that has been requested by players throughout the Early Access period. This will allow you to save a demolition in progress and pick it up later rather than having to restart the level if you need to quit before you finish.
The next Hardspace: Shipbreaker update is also going to be fine-tuning progression. Some players had a harder time progressing due to the random value of salvage. The next version of the game should smooth things out a bit and give you a more consistent progression experience. These are just some of the changes that are coming in the next update; you can read about everything in today’s announcement.
When is the Hardspace: Shipbreaker 1.0 Release Date?
The Hardspace: Shipbreaker 1.0 release date will be sometime in Spring 2022; a more specific release date has not yet been announced. As with some previous updates, this will include the final progression reset for existing players.
It should also be noted that Hardspace: Shipbreaker price will increase from $24.99 to $34.99 once update 1.0 is launched. If you’ve been curious about this game, it’s probably best to buy it now before the price goes up by ten bucks — you can buy Hardspace: Shipbreaker on PC via Steam for $24.99 or your regional equivalent.
