The Halo Shop is Changing Next Week

343 Industries has announced that the Halo Shop will be changing early next week following feedback it’s received from the community.

Halo Infinite made a splash when it launched its multiplayer portion as a free-to-play experience on PC and Xbox. While it’s had more than its fair share of launch troubles, 343 Industries has been responsive in fixing them quickly — it has improved the Challenges and Playlists, fixed some annoying bugs (including one that affected Quick Resume), and detailed its plans to address a matchmaking issue with Big Team Battles.

This is all fantastic news, but one area of contention that hasn’t yet been addressed is the Halo Shop, an in-game store where players can purchase cosmetics for their multiplayer characters. That’s all about to change next week.

How the Halo Shop is Changing

The changes to the Halo Shop will surely be welcomed by players. Simply put, 343 Industries has heard feedback from fans and it’s aiming to give them a better value overall.

“Starting Tuesday, the Shop experience will vary week-to-week,” 343 Industries Head of Design Jerry Hook said in a Twitter thread (via Reddit). “We are focused on reducing pricing across the board, providing stronger values in our bundles, starting to put individual items outside of bundles, and more.”

It should be noted, however, that this isn’t a one-and-done change. 343 is going to continue to tweak and adjust the Halo Shop in the coming weeks and months; Hook adds that he would like players to “please keep the feedback coming.”

When Are the Halo Shop Changes Arriving?

The Halo Shop changes will go live on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. A specific launch time has not yet been announced.

Critically, we don’t yet know how exactly things will be changing other than a general promise for reduced pricing and better value in bundles. You can find out for yourself by playing Halo Infinite multiplayer for free on PC and Xbox, and you can enjoy its epic campaign on both platforms starting at $59.99 or your regional equivalent.
