Loopmancer Roadmap Includes Challenge Mode And More

Developer eBrain Studio has revealed the Loopmancer roadmap, detailing upcoming content for the sidescrolling action roguelite. This content includes a new challenge mode, the ability to change character builds, and more, and there’s some info on the upcoming Loopmancer console ports as well.

What’s included in the Loopmancer roadmap?

From the name alone, you might think Loopmancer is a Loop Hero-style building sim, but that’s not the case; it’s an action-packed roguelite platformer in which the protagonist is stuck in a time loop. Thankfully, developer eBrain Studio is under no such restriction and is moving forward with the game’s development. We now have a Loopmancer roadmap that shows what’s coming to the game in the near future.

First up, you’re getting a new Build system in the next major update for the game. This system, according to the developer, is intended to reward players’ “enthusiasm about character builds”, giving you the chance to experiment with different approaches to Loopmancer‘s combat. Extra weapon and buff effects will be complemented by new environmental mechanics, such as the addition of corpses acting as bombs or a damage-dealing dash.

The Loopmancer roadmap will add more ways to experiment with combat builds.

As well as the Build system, you’re also getting a Challenge mode, which will present the opportunity to “freely assemble levels” and enjoy an “endless challenge”, according to the devs. Console versions of Loopmancer are also in the works; the devs say they’ll begin work on the console version around the same time as update 1.05 is released because they want to include “as much content as possible” for consoles.

It’s well worth reading the full letter to fans from eBrain Studio over on Steam, where the official roadmap announcement was made. The letter details the journey of Loopmancer from concept to execution and also discusses what eBrain Studio is doing to ensure the game reaches its full potential. If you’ve already given Loopmancer a shot, you might find enough in the new roadmap to entice you back. If you’re yet to try it, you can grab Loopmancer right now on Steam, where it’ll set you back $24.99 (although there’s currently a 10% discount available).
