Static Views is a new World Quest added in the 3.0 update for Genshin Impact that brought with it the mystical land of Sumeru, packed with new characters to meet, quests to complete, and gear to acquire. We’ve got a guide on how to complete the Static Views quest, and make it to the Location Shown in the Static Views Painting, below!
Upon completing the Woodland Encounter: Aranyaka Part 1 World Questline and the first quest of Dream Nursery: Aranyaka Part 2, The World of the Aranara, players will be able to explore a new ‘hidden’ area in the north of Sumeru. This is the elusive home of the Aranara, known as Vanarana. Here, players can encounter a post-box with a painting inside, possibly leading to buried treasure (Paimon hopes so at least!). The only hurdle is that there is no quest marker to guide the player, so proceeding to the location shown in the painting may cause some trouble. Luckily, here’s a guide to the Static Views Quest, including how to start it and how to complete the quest, along with the rewards and consequences of this World Quest.
How to Start the Static Views World Quest in Genshin Impact
To begin the Static Views World Quest, players need to have gained access to Vanarana, the home of the Aranara, by completing the Woodland Encounter: Aranyaka Part 1 World Questline and the first quest of Dream Nursery: Aranyaka Part 2, The World of the Aranara. Without access to Vanarana, the Static Views World Quest will be completely inaccessible, so come back after you’ve done that!
Another reason The World of the Aranara quest has to be completed before gaining access to this quest is due to the dual nature of Vanarana. Without giving away too much, there are two versions of Vanarana, a dream-state for the Aranara that can’t be accessed normally by humans and the ‘real’ version that humans can see. To complete Static Views, players need to be able to switch between them using the Vintage Lyre gained during the Dream Nursery: Aranyaka Part 2, The World of the Aranara quest.
Nevertheless, if you do have access to Vanarana, head to the southern entrance of the area to find the area marked on the map above. What you’ll see is a small Aranara hut with a wooden post-box outside. It should have a blue World Quest icon above it to signify that interacting with it will begin a World Quest. Interact with the post-box to acquire a painting of a location and start the short but puzzle-centric quest Static Views.
If the World Quest icon is not here (because you’re in the ‘real’ version of Vanarana), head over to the Silapna statue in the centre of the village and play the Rhythm of the Great Dream. The Silapna is the small, round rock with a green swirl of light at its centre and large leaves on top. You would have interacted with the Silapna during the Dream Nursery: Aranyaka Part 2, The World of the Aranara quest.
To play the Rhythm of the Great Dream, use the Vintage Lyre gadget to play the notes ‘fa-mi-so-fa-do’ on the top row of the interface. Doing so will switch between the dream state and the ‘real’ Vanarana. As demonstrated by this quest, each state grants access to different quests so switching between them is an important feature of the area. The easiest way to tell which state you are in is to look at the lighting – the dream version has a purple hue whereas the normal state has more natural lighting.
How to Get to the Location Shown in the Static Views Painting
Once you have interacted with the post-box outside of the Aranara house and started the Static Views World Quest, you will receive a painting of a location and the vague objective to ‘Proceed to the location shown in the painting’. There is no quest marker or search area for this step of the quest.
To view this painting, head into your inventory and view the quest items page. On this page you should find a purple quality ‘gadget’ (it’s a book) called Aranyaka. This journal is used to track various activities in Vanarana. Use this item and scroll down to the final category to find the Mysterious Clipboard where the painting can be viewed.
The painting given to you by the Static Views World Quest depicts a Statue of the Seven hidden in a rocky crevice with a treasure chest buried to the right side near a rock. Luckily, this is actually the Statue of the Seven located in Vanarana, just a short walk from where the quest begins!
From the post-box where you accepted the quest, travel to the northeast following the dirt path up the hill. Shortly, you’ll encounter the large Aranara hut where you spoke to Arama and Araji about the Bija during the prerequisite quest Dream Nursery: Aranyaka Part 2, The World of the Aranara. The Statue of the Seven is located on the right side of the path, just before heading into the cave with said Aranara hut.
Looking at the Statue of the Seven, the buried treasure should be located in front of the large rock to the right of the Statue. Walk up to this rock to receive the prompt to ‘dig’. Doing so will unearth a Common Chest and complete the Static Views World Quest.
If you walk up to this quest and do not receive the prompt to ‘dig’, then return to the Silapna at the centre of Vanarana to play to Rhythm of the Great Dream once again. You will need to be in the ‘real’ version of Vanarana Village, not the purple ‘dream’ state.
What are the Rewards for the Static Views Quest in Genshin Impact?
Strangely, the Static Views World Quest itself does not offer any rewards at all – no Primogems, no Adventure EXP, not even Mora! However, that is not to say that it is not a worthwhile quest to complete.
Firstly, the buried treasure is a chest containing various common loot such as a small quantity of Primogems and Mora, alongside the new Dendro Sigils and other common gear. It’s not much but it’s something! More importantly, however, is that completing the Static Views World Quest unlocks more of these mysterious painting treasure hunts, making a total of 8 paintings in the Mysterious Clipboard section. Completing these will progress the Aranyaka journal, tracking your progress through this zone’s content.
