We now have a rough idea of when we can expect a global Pokemon TCG Live release. The digital card game is set to expand its beta test worldwide by the end of this month if a representative of The Pokemon Company is to be believed.
Over on the official Pokemon TCG Live forums, a poster by the name of GabiruBR asks whether there’s any news regarding a global release for the game. A moderator with the delightful name “TPCi_CursedSoup” responds and says that in the company’s “most recent letter”, a tentative release window of November was announced, and that “nothing has changed on our end”.
So, what is Pokemon TCG Live? Well, as you might expect, it’s a digital version of the classic Pokemon trading game. It was originally teased via the Fusion Strike set back in August 2021, before being officially unveiled in September of that same year. The Pokemon Company describes it as a “fresh challenge” that you can play across mobile and desktop.
Pokemon TCG Live will feature “true-to-game rules”, so if you’re familiar with the tabletop experience, you should find TCG Live pretty straightforward to get to grips with. It features in-game cards with some pretty snazzy art, expanded online modes, and features compared to its predecessor Pokemon Trading Card Game Online.
Right now, Pokemon TCG Live is only available in certain countries in beta, including Australia, Germany, and the Netherlands. Said beta was originally slated to launch in 2021, but was subsequently delayed to 2022, meaning many players had to wait even longer to get their hands on it. Now, however, The Pokemon Company has set a release target for November, so hopefully, we’ll hear more about it before the end of the month. When Pokemon TCG Live does launch around the world, you’ll be able to check it out on PC and on mobile devices. Watch this space for more info.
