Buzz Lightyear is one of the most iconic characters from Toy Story, and you get to meet him face to face in the flesh — or plastic — in the December 2022 update to Disney Dreamlight Valley.
How To Unlock Buzz Lightyear in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Once you have unlocked the Toy Story realm with 7,000 Dreamlight, you will be shrunk down and sent into the wonderful world of living toys. From here you will meet Buzz Lightyear, who is standing in his superhero-like pose on top of Bonnie’s bed. He seems to be having some sort of malfunction due to his batteries being dangerously low. As he speaks, he stutters and randomly blurts out “To the Rescue!” and some of his other catchphrases from his wires short-circuiting due to lack of battery power.
It is then up to you to locate two batteries, which are pretty easy to find, and then bring them back to Buzz. He then tells you to flip one of his switches on his back to make the batteries work, which then powers him back up completely!
Disney Dreamlight Valley Buzz Lightyear Questline
Buzz then lets you know his best friend Woody seems to have fallen out the window, and when he attempted to rescue Woody, the window slammed shut and locked. Then, as Buzz was prepping his rescue mission, his batteries began to die, and well, you know the rest. Buzz says he has an idea of how to reach the lock on the window in order to open it, as it is too high for him to reach on his own. There is a toy racetrack all around the room, which he says can launch a car at full speed toward the window and to the lock.
You will need to find and collect 10 total pieces of the track that are scattered all over the room and bring them back to Buzz. He will then rebuild the track with those missing pieces to complete his rescue mission. But sadly, some of the tracks don’t seem to be the right height to throw the car high enough towards the window latch, that’s where you come in yet again.
You will need to collect five Magic Cacti, that once watered will grow big and tall to lift the tracks to the proper height. The cacti look like little wheels almost and are pretty scattered about the bedroom. Once you have collected all five, you will then need to place them under the designated areas underneath the tracks, and water them with your magic watering can. Each cactus will grow and lift the tracks to the right height for Buzz, which you have to go back and talk to again to progress.
He then hands you a toy car that you will need to bring to the top of the tracks and push down in order to gain enough momentum to launch itself at the window to save Woody. You will then have to climb the ladder, which prompts a cutscene that shows the toy car slamming into the window lock and unlocking it once again.
Disney Dreamlight Valley Buzz Lightyear Friendship Level Unlocks
Each character comes with a set of bonus unlocks that you can obtain by growing your friendship level with each of them. All of them offer different things, so let’s discuss each bonus unlock Buzz has to offer:
- Friendship Level 1: Unlock Buzz
- Friendship Level 2: Blue Backdrop/Wallpaper Decor
- Friendship Level 3: Buzz’s Three Buttons Decor
- Friendship Level 4: 500 Star Coins
- Friendship Level 5: Toy Ball Decor
- Friendship Level 6: Zerg Wall Decor
- Friendship Level 7: 1,000 Star Coins
- Friendship Level 8: Outer Space Wall Window Decor
- Friendship Level 9:Buzz Lightyear Clothing Overlay
- Friendship Level 10: Buzz Lightyear Jetpack
- in order to unlock tier 10, you must also complete all of Buzz Lightyear’s friendship quests.
