NBA 2K23 Update Prepares for Season 4

2K Sports just released a new NBA 2k23 patch that fixes a number of bugs, as well as prepares for the latest Season coming to the game will feature a new game mode. 

The devs have released quite a few quality-of-life changes and bug fixes with the latest patch, including a disconnect error players would get in the Play Now Online game mode. There were also some visual changes made to City courts for teams such as the Minnesota Timberwolves, Phoenix Suns, and San Antonio Spurs. The Bob Lanier “16” stripe was also added to the Detroit Pistons uniforms, but will not be available until the next roster update.

In terms of gameplay fixes, 2K has reduced the on-ball steal effectiveness when players attempt to reach across the opposing players’ bodies. Medium Anklebreaker reactions have now also been removed from Triple threat moves. There was also an error fixed that caused players to glitch underneath the floor when the players were performing a user-controlled rim hang. Several graphical changes were also made to the Jordan Challenge mode, as well as lighting fixes.

We also learn that the devs are preparing for the upcoming release of Season 4, which will come with a new game mode titled Eras Quick Play. Players will be able to start the mode from the Play Now menu and experience historic matchups that utilize filters and overlays from any of the previously supported Eras.

This latest patch is now live for console players and will be available to PC players on Friday morning. NBA 2k23’s Season 4 will arrive on Friday, January 13, 2023.
