NieR: Automata Anime Episode 4 & Beyond Delayed Due to COVID-19

Today the production of the NieR: Automata Ver1.1a anime announced that we’ll have to wait longer to enjoy more episodes. 

The announcement, made on social media explains that the studio working on the anime has been affected by COVID-19, with the consequence that the broadcast of Episode 4 and all subsequent episodes will be delayed.

The new broadcast schedule has not been announced just yet, but the production promises more information on the official website and Twitter “soon.”

While the announcement includes an apology to those who were eagerly awaiting more episodes of the excellent anime, it’s good that the health of the animators is being prioritized. In the meanwhile, episode 3 has just been made available today, so we’re not left completely without more adventures for 2B and friends.

The anime debuted on January 7, 2023, and it’s available for streaming on Crunchyroll in western countries where the service is available. 

It’s animated by studio A-1 Pictures and directed by Ryoji Masuyama under the supervision of the franchise’s creator Yoko Taro himself. The music will be composed by Keiichi Okabe’s studio MONACA, which is also behind the original soundtrack of the game. if you’d like to see more, you can check out a the official trailer, another trailer focusing on A2 and one focusing on the rather obscure character Lily.
