The developers at Red Hook announced that their game, Darkest Dungeon II, will leave early access on May 8, 2023.
Not only will the game officially launch this coming May, but the devs announced a demo available now to give players a chance to test the waters before release. The demo is currently downloadable on Steam and the Epic Games Store, and lets players choose from four different starter characters to play with through one of the upcoming full zones. This gives everyone a chance to test not only their mettle but the playable characters as well, to see which one will fit their playstyle after launch.
There is both a city and farm for players to explore within the demo, but those who do embark on the journey should keep in mind that progress will not save or carry over once the game launches. The download has an expiration date and will no longer be available on February 13, 2023.
Creative Director Chris Bourassa and Design Director Tyler Sigman will be hosting a live Q&A session for fans of the franchise on February 7, 2023, at 11 am PST. During the session, they both will be answering questions sent in by players live, so this a great opportunity to get your burning questions answered prior to launch.
Darkest Dungeons II is a turn-based CRPG that throws players into the dead center of an apocalypse. We will explore five vast regions of the map in search of not only answers to avert this impending threat but to prepare ourselves for the difficult battles and journey ahead. Every region comes with new monsters to conquer and its own set of challenges to overcome; some regions take 30 minutes, while others take several hours to fully complete.
