Today Rare revealed the upcoming new season of its popular game as a service Seas of Thieves.
First of all, we learn that Season 9 will release on March 16, and it will bring a ton of features and content to the beloved pirate game.
We’re getting changes to make the game feel more alive and dense, including more encounters with pleasant company like Krakens and Megalodons, world events scaling to the size of your crew, a metric ton of cosmetics, season and premium pass, a whole host of tweaks to various chests, and more.
On the menu, there are also quality-of-life changes like the ability to equip flags at the outposts, a food radial menu, or a simplification of the process of harpooning floating loot.

We also learn that a documentary showcasing the story of the development of the game titled “Sea of Thieves: Voyage of a Lifetime” will premiere on March 20 to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the launch of the game in 2018.
