Today Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe announced the release date of its upcoming JRPG Sword Art Online Last Recollection.
The game will launch for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC on October 6, 2023, bringing the long-running game series up to par with the anime in terms of story. As usual, the release date is one day after the Japanese market, which will get the game on October 5.
The announcement was made with an extensive and rather nostalgic trailer pairing footage from the game with memories from older titles.
The trailer also features the theme song performed by familiar singer ReoNa, titled “Vita.” ReoNa has performed many of the theme songs for the series, so fans are definitely used to her voice.
In case you missed the original announcement made back in November, the game is a retelling of the Sword Art Online Alicization: War of Underworld arc of the anime and is set in the Dark Territory of Underworld. It will also serve as a sequel to Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris.
Sword Art Online Last Recollection is coming for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC in 2023. If you want to see more, you can take a look at the story trailer from last month. The game will feature over 40 playable characters and promises “MMO-like multiplayer” and “the largest number of unique endings” ever featured in the long-running Sword Art Online series.
At the moment, a specific release date has not been announced, but w already know that the game will be coming to the west.
