Today Arkane Austin announced that those who want to play Redfall at 60 FPS on their Xbox consoles will have to wait beyond the game’s release.
According to the announcement made on social media, the game will launch on Xbox Series X and 6 with only the “quality mode.”
Said mode will run at 4K resolution and 30 FPS on Xbox Series X, while the Xbox Series S will have the same frame rate and 1440p resolution. If you’d rather have a performance mode running at 60 FPS, that’s coming, but you’ll have to wait until after release. No further details on the timing have been announced, and we’ll keep you posted on any further announcements from Arkane and Bethesda on that front.
Of course, the PC version of the game is not affected, so there’s that.
Redfall will release for PC and Xbox Series X|S on May 2, 2023. Of course, being a first-party game, it’ll release on day one on Game Pass for both platforms. We also recently learned that it will support cross-play.
If you’d like to learn more about the world of Redfall, you can check out a recent trailer showing off the story. More trailers introduced two playable heroes, Jacob Boyer and Layla Ellison.
