Snake Eater Recording With Donna Burke Was for “Special Album for Video Game Music Lovers”

Yesterday, pictures from a recording session with popular singer Donna Burke sparked rumors, quickly debunked, about a Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater remake. Today, composer Mason Lieberman provided more details.

After several fans and several media outlets started amplifying the rumor, and speculation about the remake, Lieberman himself clarified yesterday that the recording session was unrelated to the beloved Metal Gear Solid game. Today, he took to Twitter again to provide more details.

We hear that the recording is for a special music album for video game lovers and “lots of amazing guests” will be announced down the line. Lieberman mentioned his collaborations with Cowboy Bebop and My Hero Academia to provide a hint as to what we can expect. He also added that the project is currently in post-production.

As a bonus, looks like Lieberman is taking the whole situation with a healthy dose of humor.

So there you have it, straight from the lion’s mouth. While the internet is, as usual, crowded with rumors and insiders, if Konami ever decides to create a Metal Gear Solid 3 remake, it’s very unlikely that we’ll find out about it from pictures of a recording session tweeted by a professional artist. That kind of project is usually under strict NDA until it’s officially announced by the publisher itself.
