Today Blizzard Entertainment announced that it’s working on rolling out a series of hotfixes to improve the performance of the ongoing beta of its RPG Diablo 4.
According to the announcement made on the forums, the team is performing some rolling restarts of some services behind the game alongside the hotfixes. This can cause intermittent disconnects for users while the updates are performed and a further update is coming later today.
Earlier today, a client patch for PC addressed an issue where selecting Fullscreen display would result into crashes while alt-tabbing. Another update yesterday addressed voice-over issues and attempted to alleviate queue times.
Another ongoing issue was mentioned yesterday:
We are looking at an issue where players disconnect from the game and are unable to rejoin after disconnecting. This is tied to a few other items that players are experiencing such as party errors and some network performance issues in-game.
Diablo 4 will fully release for PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 on June 6, 2023. You can also check out a recent video about the game and more information about the beta, which will end tomorrow. An early access version of the beta was performed last week.
The beta lets players enjoy the first area of the game alongside five of its classes, Druid, Necromancer (these two were not available in early access), Barbarian, Rogue, and Sorcerer, with a level cap of 25.
Blizzard also recently released a live-action trailer for the beta, set in a deconsecrated church in France.
