Diablo 4 will be released in just under two months, but today Blizzard Entertainment announced that the game has gone gold.
If you’re unfamiliar with the industry lingo, it means that whatever data is to be printed on the game’s disk that will go on the shelves has been finalized.
Of course, this doesn’t mean that work on the game has concluded, as the developers will likely continue working away at whatever fixes and changes will be included in a probable day-one patch.
The press release was accompanied by a statement from Rod Fergusson, Gears of War veteran and current general manager of Diablo.
Going gold is a landmark milestone for the incredible Diablo IV team, who have all worked so hard crafting the next-generation installment of this iconic franchise. This is a concrete, meaningful step toward our June 6 launch. Whether players are veterans of the franchise or jumping in for the first time, we can’t wait for everyone to experience the full game: taking part in the incredible storytelling, experimenting with character classes and builds, and exploring what the endgame and the dark world of Sanctuary has to offer.
Just a few days ago, we hear of a lot of interesting changes introduced in the game following the open beta, based on feedback received from those who played it.
Diablo 4 will release for PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 on June 6, 2023. You can also check out a recent video about the game, a live-action trailer for the recent beta, set in a deconsecrated church in France, and two trailers dedicated to classes, the Rogue and the Sorcerer.
